Our goal is to bring you the latest developments, news, meeting dates, and actions you can take to Keep Yellowstone Nuclear Free. * Note the January 29, 2000 New York Times article entitled: US Acknowledges Radiation Caused Cancers in Workers Energy Secretary Bill Richardson announced that 600,000 workers making nuclear weapons were exposed to radiation and chemicals causing cancer and death.. Cancers range from leukemia and Hodgkin's lymphoma to prostate, kidney, salivary gland, and lung. Compensation is being considered. This waste is all highly radioactive. It is important to attend, even if you do not want to speak Your presence will send a strong message to the DOE that Jackson residents are very concerned about this issue. We will send you more information later this week.. * Letter-writing campaign to President Clinton, Energy Secretary Bill Richardson, Senators Thomas and Enzi, Congresswoman Cubin, and Governor Geringer. A packet of letters to these people is available at the businesses* listed below. Please stop by and sign them, adding your own comments at the bottom. We will pick them up and mail them.
